Coronation Sussex

Coronation Sussex

The coro ladies are just as full and gorgeous as their light sussex cousins.

This lovely breed is also a great all-rounder: good layer, excellent table bird (cockerels) with striking looks and friendly temperament. The progeny are early to feather, fast growing and quick to mature. The young pullets and cockerels look mighty fine in their stunning crisp, white plumage with their soft laveder neck hackles and tails. Our coro sussex girls have laid well for us; they lay an average sized tinted egg - not as large as the Lights. They come into the lay early each season (late winter) and lay well till they come into the moult in autumn. The coronation sussex are inclined to go broody like many of the other heavy breeds and they make attentive mothers. They are a delight to  have free ranging in the garden. If comparing Light Sussex to Coro Sussex we would recommend the Lights as they out perform the coros in size, type and laying ability. We will have no Coros available for sale in the 2016/2017 season.
