Aloof ladies in their honey coloured attire.
Classification: Light Breed
The hens are an attractive honey brown in colour and the roosters are not far off the classic farmyard cockerel. They are a fast feathering, quick growing breed and can be easily sexed around 6 weeks of age. We do not find them to be too friendly, rather on the aloof side. The welsummer was developed by a farmer in Welsum, Holland at the end of the 19th century. They are classified as a light breed and are good layers of brown eggs. In New Zealand they are classified as a rare breed.
Please note we no longer keep this breed.
I recently brought fertile chicken eggs from you and just wanted to say you provided fantastic service, quick delivery and eggs were packed and labelled very well. Will definitely buy from you again. Big thanks

Hi Fionna, We have at long last had time to get Minka’s enclosure put together. It is awesome, plenty of room to add some climbing things for her. It arrived up here super fast with no hassles. Thank you so much. Many thanks

Perfect, exactly what I was after, and good solid eggs as well, not cheap hollow ones.

Prior to acquiring these excellent cartons we were always struggling to keep up with our girl's offerings! Now they are kept safe and well presented as they deserve.
A great product from a great team.

Great service. Eglu easy to put together, the run part took longer than I expected. However just timeconsuming as opposed to complicated. Chickens seem very happy and cosy in their new home.

We bought an extra Omlet fence to give our hens more space. Handy to have more than one gate.

Great little unit, seriously good for what I put in it. Pheasants hatched well. Chooks and Quails were a breeze. Had a small issue with the egg disk trying to fit pheasant eggs into the small holes. They really do not fit, quails eggs do but not pheasant eggs sorry. This small issue was worked through very professionally and generously by Appletons and Brinsea agents. Very satisfied with their options and answers to the problem. Would definitely recommend this company and all of their products and services any day.

Easy to use, made the hen house smell great, the girls were back in by nightfall and not a mite in sight.
